A personal comment re. 2002 Season
I've
had another great holiday on this gorgeous Island. I was there in
June and July , some 
weeks
later than usual and was expecting it to be very busy with larger numbers of
visitors enjoying the sunshine on the beautiful beaches and the excellent
variety of meals and drinks in the many and varied restaurants and Tavernas. In
truth, in all the years of holidaying on the Greek Island I have never seen
resorts so quiet. Local people feel that September 11th. and the
World
Cup have affected the number of visitors this year. I'm pleased to report
that the British have turned up as usual. It seems however that the
introduction in January of the new Euro currency throughout much of Europe has
led to many other Europeans going to destinations like Turkey because the
exchange rate for Euros gives them cheaper holidays.
As a
confirmed Greekophile I feel for the friendly, welcoming Greek
people 
who
rely on tourism and who always work so hard to make your holiday
special. At this time there are many bargains to be had through package tour
operators or plenty of accommodation if you prefer to get a flight only. So. If
you can, and want to help them while also enjoying some sunshine that is so
noticeable by its absence here in the U.K. get out there soon and
give them your support.
You won't be disappointed.

Food and Drink At Scorpio's
Although the choice of Restaurants, Cocktail Bars and Tavernas is boundless I can personally recommend.
A warm and genuine welcome from the owners Andrew and Maria Pentespitis and their staff makes you feel like the most important person in the restaurant while the service and food is second to none.
Traditional Greek dishes and excellent wines are always on the menu. An unbelievable array of high quality international cuisine that include Indian and Thai dishes are also served. If you like your food plain and simple then you will love the "Shepherd's Pie" with baked potatoes. The hardest part of my holiday was deciding each evening what to choose from the menu, so, I went back later in the year to continue working my way through the menu : Of the course bonus is the opportunity to soak up more of the glorious sunshine during day and the unique Greek Taverna atmosphere at night.

The Clean and comfortable rooms are kept that way by the happy and helpful Magda . Evi always had time for a chat while serving breakfast and the staff in the bars and the snack bar at the pool side are always helpful.
