Pefkos and
the Beaches there are a wonderful place to spend a holiday. As usual the localsmake
you very welcome. The last visit was in June/July 2005 and in common with the
most Mediterranean Islands that year it was exceptionally hot. The daytime
temperatures often exceeded 39/40 Celsius (100 Fahrenheit). Air conditioning in
the rooms at night was a bonus as was the fridge to keep the drinks cool. Days
spent on the beach were idyllic as you could get away from the midday sun by
getting into the sea or under the umbrella
